Description:

High in the East Bay hills, Stonebrae is representative of the creative abilities of RJA to master plan and design an outstanding golf course community on a challenging hilly site 1,500 feet above the San Francisco Bay in Hayward, California. The community includes five villages consisting of 575 custom homes and custom home sites. The homes are surrounded by a championship golf course designed by Scottish golf course architect David McLay Kidd and 1,200 acres of dedicated open space and wildlife preserves.

RJA served as the project Civil Engineer for preparation of feasibility studies and development of the backbone infrastructure, including design of mass grading plans, water and sewer lines, storm drainage facilities, access roads, as well as oversight of the work performed by geotechnical engineering, traffic engineering, and water resources consultants.  Major design elements removal of an existing 1.8-MG water storage reservoir, design of a new 1.8-MG and two 2.86-MG above-ground, welded steel water storage reservoirs, and a water booster pump station to serve the area.

RJA also provided civil engineering and related services for development of the Country Club facility and the new Blue Rock Elementary School, which consists of several buildings, a parking lot, multi-use artificial turf field, and three basketball courts.
